Man City star, Sterling shocks Nigerians as he watches Aki & Paw Paw movies. Chinedu Ikedieze reacts!!

Manchester City star Raheem Sterling has put the whole nation in a state of shock after revealing he watches Nollywood movies.

The English professional footballer is a true fan of Aki and Paw Paw movies which was made known in a recent Instagram update where veteran Nollywood actor Chinedu Ikedieze updated his page with one of their old movies.

The actor put up the video to mark Valentine day celebration where he gave a shout out to ‘all his beautiful ladies.’

‘Happy Valentine to all my beautiful girls 💝💐,’ he captioned the video.

Though the video is one of the most hilarious things you will be seeing today, what captured the attention of his fans was the fact that Manchester City forward, Raheem Sterling reacted to the video with a ‘laugh out loud’ emoji which shows that he really watched and enjoyed the video.

Reacting to Sterling’s comment on the video, excited Chinedu Ikedieze took to his Instagram page to share the ace footballer’s reaction to his 500k plus fans.

“That’s what WE live for- making people happy. Shout out to a HUGE FAN x friend @sterling7 of @mancity for always sparing time to laugh out loud via our movies🙌 No wonder he’s always a winner! #onelovebro 🙏👍#mancity💖”

This is to show that Raheem Sterling is a true fan of Nigerian movies and we believe he watches them especially the comic ones.

This is not the first time international celebrities are reacting to Nollywood clips on social media. A few months ago, singer Chris Brown used another movie by the wonderful duo Aki and Paw Paw to address the public after rumours made rounds that he was dating American rapper, Cardi B who separated from her husband Offset following infidelity claims at the time.

The 29-year-old took to Instagram to share a viral video of Nollywood veteran Osita Iheme ‘Paw Paw’ angrily saying to someone, “Please, I don’t have any time for any gossip now.” It was actually a clip of one of his movies.

This is an indication that Nollywood comic movies by the veteran actors are actually doing well by attracting foreign interest of international celebrities.

While both actors, Chinedu Ikedieze, Aki and Osita Iheme Paw Paw are avid football fans, none of them supports Manchester City which is where Sterling plies his trade. Rather, they support Arsenal and Chelsea respectively.

Maybe Sterling’s recent show of support and interest in their movies might change their football club mindset. They may in turn start supporting Manchester City who are the Premier League table toppers.

Raheem Sterling has been the lynchpin in Manchester City’s rise to the top of the Premier League table and who knows may be, Aki and Paw Paw movies which we believe he uses to relax adds to his high performance rate.

Sterling plays as a winger, attacking midfielder or striker, though he is more comfortable as a natural winger. Sterling has been praised for his adaptability and ability to play wide, at the tip of a midfield diamond and centrally, offering flexibility. Known for his pace, low centre of gravity, and dribbling skills, Sterling has been compared to Alexis Sánchez by his former manager Brendan Rodgers. Rodgers has also praised him for offering a “real threat,” his use of pace with composure and his maturity. Despite his small stature, he also possesses considerable upper-body strength, which aids him in withstanding challenges, and retaining possession.

Former Barcelona midfielder Xavi said in November 2014 that Sterling is good enough to play for the La Liga club, praising his physical and technical qualities. In April 2015, BBC Sport columnist Phil McNulty wrote that Sterling was “very good with the potential to be outstanding” but remained a “work in progress” due to inconsistent performances. He also wrote, “He is blessed with natural pace that makes even the best defences and defenders take a step back.”
