“Apart” by Providence Wright

Let’s rendezvous on the moon
An atmosphere of serenity
Where the buzzing of flies and mosquitoes
Do not have a say in what we do

Let’s leave this world
This atmospheric sandwich
Where all cannibals
Tall and Short
Want to devour our togetherness

Let’s disappear
And exist only in our imaginations
Where the powerful and powerless
Have no grasp on us

Let us love in despair
But only, apart from each other.
