First of all, the Bible doesn’t support divorce so that’s not an option for. The man. Secondly, the children have frown to know and love him as a father and I’m sure the man also loves them as his children, so I’ll advise he holds unto them and keep being that father figure.

Being a father is not only about those who biologically yours, Sir, a lot of times people have grown to love and call people father or mother when they didn’t give birth to them.
God has blessed him with children, let him keep them.

First thing first , he should ask the holy spirit for help . if he still loves the wife he can keep her because at least three kids are still his, for the other that are not his should know their father but if he wants to keep them he should get a legal claim for them by a lawyer

Marriage is an agreement between two people who have found love in each other and has decided to commit their relationship from just dating or courting, to tying the knot in a together forever journey.

To breach the contract of the agreement as far as marriage is concerned is to defile the bed by involving in adultery.

Hence, the action of the wife and the doctor is a total act of treachery, betraying the trust of the man and making him love and raise the children of another man, not just anyone but his family doctor, it is indeed heartbreaking.

With various suggestion coming from Nigerians on what the man should do, what do you suggest the man should and likewise what should be done to the woman?

Lets’s hear your opinion in the comments section below and don’t forget to like and share.

Analysis on Matiiku by Chiedozie Ude. GBAMLOG.COM

Analysis on Matiiku

It is no news that trying to analyse a live performance is a tricky job. This trickiness may be as a result of different factors such as place and time— or more impressive, the complex nature of literature. Notwithstanding this difficulty, this paper will make an attempt to critically analyse the stage play entitled Matiiku. This essay will succinctly summarise the play and its subject matter, making use of factors such as the stage management and the gestures (which some may refer to as body language) of the actors to defend the choice of subject matter. The attention that will be paid to the factors stated above stems from the technical nature of the dialogue — that is, it was, to a very large extent, exclusively performed in the Yoruba language. However, the focus on the gestures and stage management does not in any way downplay the usefulness of the dialogue in this analysis because its importance in making the play fit its setting, and also, its subject matter cannot be overlooked. Also, it is important to note that this essay will include foreign references — that is, events or even books outside the narrative — which will be used support the arguments expressed in this paper. All these will be combined to comprehensively analyse this play.

This segment of the essay will comment on the playwright and the setting of the play. Not much is known about the playwright; hence, we move on to the setting of the play. The play is set during the colonial era, and this is reinforced through the manner in which the stage was set, and the numerous festivities which took place — the market scene; the baby/ritual scene; and the court dispute between the colonial district officer and the people. The latter is unarguably the strongest supporter of the claim that the play is set during the colonial era because it not only captures the communication problems that plagued the colonial masters due to their inability to grasp the local languages employed by their subjects, but also captures the presence of the white man (The district officer); hence, justifying the time setting— that is, the colonial period. The place setting of the play is Lagos. The introduction of three characters at the beginning of the play who represent the three white-cap chiefs of Lagos is testament to this fact. They, unequivocally, strengthen the play’s genre — that is, a historical play.

The subject matter of the play revolves around a man, who was predestined to be king, right from birth. This information was exposed by the narrator, before the start of the play. Hence, one can say that the plot of the play is based on the child, whom the oracle chooses as king. As expected, he becomes the king of Lagos once he attains adulthood; although, the colonial government later wrestled power from him. It is important to state that the fulfillment of the prophecy on the life of the king is a common motif in Yoruba themed plays— that is, the oracle can never be wrong— such as Ola Rotimi’s The Gods are Not to Blame, where the pronouncements of the oracle on the main character comes to pass. Therefore, one can be justified to state that there is a theme of fate (inevitable destiny) in the play. Another thing that is worthwhile to discuss is how the scenes in the play are linked by an interlude of music and dance. These performances (music and dance) may be regarded as entertaining because of the choreographic dance steps employed by the dancers. Being a traditional play, these songs should have deeper meanings, but that is not the focus of this essay. So, this analysis will rate the musical interlude from the standpoint of pleasure and entertainment.

One may describe the stage management as almost impeccable due to the perfect way the stage was set to represent the setting, and also, their flawless deployment of the lighting technique. To me, it is this lighting technique that makes the play stand out. The lights came up when and where necessary, not a second too early or late. Unarguably, the lighting technique was most effective when it was employed to show time — that is, day and night. This topnotch use of this technique is also brought to the fore when the lights were dimmed during the ritual scene. The solemnity and sacredness of the rituals were well captured by the eerily spooky umbrella of semi-darkness. This was enough to make the watcher understand the importance of these rituals. Another important thing I noticed due to the arrangement of the stage is the market scene. The market scene is crucial in traditional plays. The market is known as a place where rumours and stories thrive. Little wonder the birth of the would be king is announced in the market setting. The market scene is also ideal for announcement of the king’s birth because it reinforces Soyinka’s principle in Death and the King’s Horseman of the market place being a strategic location for the meeting of the three realities in Yoruba mythology — that is, the world of the unborn; the world of the living; and the world of the dead. It is important to note that the market place also serves as a link between these realities. Hence, this well believed myth strengthens the writer’s use of the market scene to announce a transition — that is, from the world of the unborn to the world of the living. The stage management was described as almost impeccable at the beginning of the paragraph because it had slight flaws. One of such flaws is the bad sound systems used in the play. Aside this, one can be justified to give the stage management crew an excellent score for a job well done.

Also, the gestures of the actors also enable non speakers of the Yoruba language to have an insight on some of the happenings in the play. The slow pace, with which those who are to make prophecies on the child move, gives insight to the audience that these men must be truly special and of high importance in the society. The greatness which is proclaimed on the baby is evident when the priests and other spectators bow to the child. However, the child’s mother refuses to bow to her child; hence, bringing into play the African belief that expects a child to prostrate himself to his parents, and not the other way round.

In conclusion, if I were asked to give my personal opinion on the play, I would rate it as a largely successful performance. The topnotch techniques employed by the stage management crew played a huge role in this. As a member of the audience who could not fully grasp the dialogues, I was entertained by the dance interlude. Hence, I can boldly describe the play as a successful one. In conclusion, this essay has made an attempt to analyse the production of the play Matiiku.

95-year-old Grandma says smoking weed is the ‘recipe’ for long life. GBAMLOG.COM

Since she started smoking at the age of 10, Melita Gordon says she won’t stop smoking ‘ganja’ until she is dead!

Melita GordonMelita Gordon

According to the Jamaican grandma, stopping would kill her. This statement was backed by her doctor who speculates that her relationship with cannabis may be partly responsible for her longevity.

Melita Gordon, the daughter of Richard Gordon and Michelle Jones says since she was baptized into the practice by her parents her commitment to pot has never ceased.

As reported by Green Rush Daily, Gordon said speaking in patois, “When mi goes a doctor he say him ah tell mi fi to stop smoke marijuana, because if mi stop, him a go lose mi,”

Cannabis plant

Although she has been smoking every day all day long for 85 years, not everyone is happy with her habit. Especially her daughter, who despite begging her mother to stop or at least reduce it to a roll per day, has made no inroads between her mother and marijuana.Marijuana considered a narcotic in Ghana and some parts of the world, properties seems to have made its presence in half-truths and unfounded truths.

But leaked scientific research conducted in the late 1990s appears to endorse Melita Gordon’s ‘theory’ to a long and happy life. According to this unpublished results, the study revealed that THC (a chemical compound found in the cannabis plant) increased the life expectancy of the test subjects. At the end of the experiment, “those that were given THC had a clear survival advantage over the untreated rats”, as reported by the study. Probably we should revisit this study when weed is legalized in Ghana.

Heartbreaking Romance: THE WRONG GIRL by Jewel Chever | GBAMLOG.COM

How can one person take so long in the bathroom? It had been an hour and a half since Sharon had said she would be down in a minute and Matt still was patiently sitting at the kitchen table; stirring the empty teacup that he had already drunk (over an hour ago). Maybe he could get a quick store run in, she probably wouldn’t be out for another hour. He had forgotten to put deodorant on today and he could feel the smell of old gym socks starting to permeate in the air. Grabbing his keys he put his glass in the sink and went towards the front door; right on time, Sharon waltzed in.

“Okay, I’m ready, told you I would be quick”

Matt pursed his lips, trying to hide the disdain on his face.

Sharon hadn’t changed anything, her hair was still in a bun, her face looked the same, at least to him, and she still was wearing the same creamy peach cashmere sweater that he had bought her a week ago. all together she looked the exact same as she did an hour ago.

“Don’t take this the wrong way…but what did you actually change?” Matt questioned.

“You can’t tell? I put on some of that new lipstick that I bought from the store last week. I was going to go for a cherry look, but I decided on peach. I’m trying to impersonate this look I…..”

He had stopped listening, after last week there was no point in going on with this conversation; no matter what he said Sharon would be right and would argue him down and honestly he was starving and was too hungry to argue.

“Oh you’re right, I see the difference now..so you want to go eat now?”

“You’re such a dear Matt, thanks for waiting on me while I embellished on myself a little”

She skipped down the stairs waiting patiently by the passenger side of the car.

Matt liked Sharon, he really did, she had her good qualities, not even including sex, but her bad qualities outweighed her good ones.

She was too perky, sometimes she was bubbly and happy over nothing at all. She laughed at things that honestly weren’t funny; like the time he took her to his grandfathers funeral and she started laughing when his grandmother started crying in the middle of the service; his mother still wouldn’t talk to him.

She never would open her own car door even when Matt had sprained his arm at work she still waited for him to roll around the car in his wheelchair and open the door for her; which lead to him having to stay in the cast for two more weeks. He had tried to overlook all these things and make it work, he really had, but the more he got to know Sharon the more she grew to annoy him.

He had decided tonight was the night: he was going to break up with her. He decided the safest place would be in public once she had a few drinks in her. So that way if things got too heated he could slip out of the restaurant before she killed him. He already had his escape plan: he either would crawl out the bathroom window or pretend he had a phone call to answer and run to the nearest phone booth and call his mother to come pick him up; all he had to do was make sure he executed the plan.

“Babe, are you okay, you’re awfully quiet?”

Matt kept his eyes peeled to the road, he knew if he looked at her he might chicken out.

“Yeah, just thinking about the kind of wine I’m going to get”

Wine! Why would he say wine she knew he hated wine. What was wrong with him?

“Ooohhh…fancy I didn’t know you were a connoisseur of the art of wine.”

He wasn’t.

“Oh yeah, I’m full of surprises. I’m the wine guy; I’m who everyone calls to know about, y’know, renowned wines and what not.”

“Oh, well look, I wanted to talk to you about something: what do you think about moving in?”

Matt blared the radio listening to some song about a girl’s heart being broken, drowning out Sharon’s words.

He was about to be broken, very broken, maybe even stabbed, the night was full of surprises.

“Sorry I can’t hear you”

There that would buy him some time.

“Honey, calm down, your foods on it’s way, you look like you’re about to jump out your seat”

Matt laughed.

She was right, he was about to jump out his seat, just not for the reason she thought. He had to be ready to dart out at any moment.

“Sorry, I’m just hungry and ready for my food”.

“Did you see their wallpaper when we walked in? its such an ornate pattern, it feels welcoming.

Matt nodded.

He hated the wallpaper. It was grotesque. it reminded him too much of Sharon, loud and annoying.

“I was thinking that maybe we could get a wallpaper like that together you know?”

What did he know? What was she saying? Why couldn’t she just say what she meant? He was already stressed enough, his good polo shirt was now wet with sweat.

“Sure, whatever you want.”

“Really, well, that’s great, I already found a place for us, it has a big balcony…”

Matt nodded. He just had to keep nodding. Where was the waiter, he needed a drink.

Finally, their food arrived and Matt scarfed down his food, the searing hot pain of the hot food sliding down his throat. He sighed when he heard the loud sound of Sharon smackin.g he looked up and saw crumbs on the side of her mouth and she had garlic butter on her cheeks.

“So listen, I was thinking?

Sharon looked up lightly burping and giving him her best toothy smile. he winced, he could still see the broccoli crumbs in her teeth.

“What if we both went on a trip?

“What! Really, where?”

He tightened his collar and looked at the table.

“Well you get in your car, right?”

Sharon nodded.

“And drive straight to your house and stay there and I drive to my house and stay there and we both stay at our own houses and never see each other again.

She furrowed her eyebrows.

“What do you mean?”

“Okay, let me explain this better: you go to your house and move on with your life and get your wallpaper and I move on with my life and we don’t speak, talk or text each other.”

“Are you Kidding ME! You’re breaking up with me?!

“No. . . No, of course not, well wait, no, yeah I am”

“You must be joking?”

“Sharon I’m not. I know you have bad taste in jokes but this isn’t one”.

“You piece of crap, after everything I’ve done for you! I gave you everything! I even let you use my favorite towel.”

“Okay, 1… I bought that towel and 2… We’ve been dating for five months you haven’t done anything for me.”

“Tell me who she is?”

“There is no other girl Sharon, you’re just…honestly you’re just you and I don’t like you.”

This was honestly going better than he thought.

“Why!?”

She was crying now, snot stuck on her top lip and her eyes were puffy. He wanted to offer a napkin, but she had hogged them all when she was eating.

“You’re Selfish, inconsiderate, rude, disrespectful to my family and loud, I could go on.”

“I’m the most giving person you’ll ever meet!” She screamed.

“Are you crazy! You stole ten dollars out the giving jar at church!” he was yelling now.

“They leave it there for you to take!” She yelled.

“No they don’t, that’s the exact opposite of the point of church.
You never split the check either.”

“You should pay for my food” Sharon whined.

“I wouldn’t have a problem with paying if you weren’t the person eating 98% of the load of food you always order. For god sake, we went to Burger King and you ordered an $80 dollar meal and ate all of the food!”

“I have a high metabolism you jerk!” Sharon said.

He sighed.

“This is why I did this in a public space, I didn’t want to create a scene.”

“You want a scene? I’ll show you a scene. You got the wrong girl pal!”

“Sharon.. Calm down”

“You want me to calm down!” She yelled.

She threw down her plate ripping off the tablecloth and smashing the glasses.

When Matt lifted up his head, he saw the other guests staring at him, scared, there was glass everywhere.

Sharon grabbed the gravy bowl, dumping the slimy goo down his back.

He bit his lip, trying to keep calm.

“Keep the check” Sharon said.

Matt smiled as he saw her walk out. he was free, finally.

Two Days Later.

“Hey Matt, I didn’t know you were packing all that” Sarah said (matt’s co-worker)

He smiled.

“Well, I’ve been working out lately so”

“Matt, can I talk to you for a moment?

Matt looked up as he saw his boss standing in the door of her office.

“Listen Matt, whatever you do in your personal life is fine, but don’t bring it to work”

“Um..I’m sorry Ma’am, but I have no idea what you’re talking about”

She handed him a flyer.

He stared in horror as he saw a naked picture of himself with the caption

“Can you spot it?
Answer: It’s too tiny to spot”.

Matt clenched his jaw and looked up.

“I’m sorry, Ma’am I had no idea about this.

He sat down at his cubicle when he suddenly heard the chirping of his phone.

He looked down and saw a text from Sarah.

“You got the wrong girl, have a blessed

HORROR TRAGEDY: HOW A FLIGHT TO VEGAS ENDED MY RELATIONSHIP by Toni Payne

You won’t believe how a flight to Vegas ended my relationship. I had been dating a guy named William for about one year. Things were going great between us and I had no cause for concern. Well, that is until he did something so thoughtless, I had to end the relationship.

I work as a financial consultant and although I travel a lot, my job is quite flexible. He worked as a fitness trainer so his job was also quite flexible. When we started dating, I felt the flexibility of our careers was a good sign because we could spend more time together.

Severally, I would invite him on trips with me, most especially when I knew I would be gone for a week or more. He turned me down all the time with the excuse that he had a fear of flying. I even went as far as trying to get him to enroll in a “defeat your fears” simulated flight program, which he blatantly refused.

I decided to overlook things, after all, there were other communication options while I was away. We kept in touch whenever I travelled, in fact he was very attentive so I did not see what was coming.

During one of my business trips, our flight got delayed and because I was in a hurry, I decided to change flights and take a connecting flight through another airport. This would have saved me two hours and given me enough time to get home to prepare for my meeting the next day.

As my flight landed, I glanced down at my watch and realized I was running late and may just miss my connecting flight from Dallas to Vegas. I hurried off the plane and proceeded to the next gate, hand luggage in one hand, laptop bag in another.

A few moments later, I heard my name announced through the airport loud speaker. I ran as fast as I could and although I was the last to board, I was glad I made it. I could feel the sweat build up on my brows as I pushed my way through the airplane aisles trying to locate my seat.
As I gradually made my way down the first ten or so rows, you will not believe what I saw!

There he was, sitting there, nuzzling the passenger next to him. Yes, you guessed it right, my boyfriend of one year, who did not like to fly, was flying to Vegas with another lady and he was so smitten by her that he did not see me stroll by.

Patience Rocks!

I was absolutely livid! I could feel the heat intensifying in my stomach as I contemplated causing a scene. It took a lot of self-control but I decided it was best to stay calm. Quietly, I walked to my seat where I fortunately, had a good view of him and his lady friend. This was where being patient played a good role.

I watched as they interacted with each other, partly because I wanted to make sure I wasn’t jumping to conclusions. From where I was seated I got a good view of them kissing, I even watched as they took a short nap with her head on his shoulder.
As I watched all this happen, I took several pictures on my phone as evidence. Although the pictures were not so great, there was no way he could have denied it was him.

I never knew I had that much self-restraint but somehow, I made it through the flight without going up to them. When we landed, I waited for them to get got off the plane first. I purposely stayed back so that I would not run into them.

Later that day, while sitting at my computer with a glass of wine in one hand, I sent him a text message saying it was over. I attached the pictured from the airplane. Although he tried to call me several times that night, I did not pick his calls. It has been a couple of years now, and I have not spoken to William since then. After all, good riddance to bad rubbish, right?
